What is Intifada
What is the
meaning of Intifada .Many people
in the West do not know what the word "Intifada"
means.
Currently, the Palestinian people are being oppressed
by Israel. This manifests itself in many ways; from the use
of bullets and missiles
against demonstrators; to the continued building of
settlements with no respect for
Palestinian rights; from the removal of
Palestinians from their homes; to the continuos disregard
for numerous United Nations resolutions. Intifada is simply
the defense of the Palestinian people
against this oppression.
On this web-site Palestine Oasis , we are asking for your
help in the Intifada. We especially would like those of you
from the West to help us. And there
is action you can take that will help us...please click here
for more details. |
Why
Intifada?
What inspires a nation in it's entirety to
Intifada?
Human Rights
Israel denies full human rights to the
Palestinians. In the meantime, Jewish settlers enjoy the full
privileges and protection of the Jewish state.
For example, the Palestinians have to seek the
permission of the Israelis as they go
about their daily lives. Palestinians are regularly stopped
and questioned by the army and police. Travel outside and within Palestine
requires an "occupation signed permit"
- this also occurs whenPalestinians need to travel to pray. Many
Palestinians rightly feel degraded by such
treatment. There are also occasions when bribes are sought.Expulsion
There are currently five million Palestinians
living outside Palestine as refugees. Many left as a result of the Israeli
violence. Others left
after the occupation to pursue work or studies.
When those people attempted to return to their homes and towns, Israel closed
its borders and denied them entry....this situation continues
today.Theft Over the years, Palestinian homes
and villages have been cleared by the
Israelis to make way for their
settlements.
Siege
Israel controls all the ports and roads
into and out of Palestine. Israel has not
allowed the Palestinians to build their own port.
Every shipment of food and medicine must pass under the Israelis
supervision and approval. On many occasions
Israel collectively punishes the Palestinians by closing
these roads and ports.Torture Israeli law
effectively permits the use of torture. Their
statute books refer to it is "physical
pressure".
Killing
The Jewish state has killed tens of thousands of Arabs and Palestinians.
Leniency is often granted to those who commit such crimes in Israeli
trials. Three soldiers were ordered by an Israeli court to pay the family
of a Palestinian they killed a compensation of one
cent, divided between the three. An Israeli was sentenced to serve
a life sentence for killing a nine years old boy (whose head he crushed
with a machine gun).He was released from jail after two
years.
Holy shrines
Israel has desecrated the sanctuary of Muslim and Christian shrines
regularly. Aqsa mosque was nearly
burned down in 1969. It is still threatened with demolition by the
Israelis.
Conclusion
We were born in Palestine; this is our home.
We grew up, married, worked, played and loved here.
We have a right to live in the country of our
birth. This is why there is an Intifada.
Again, we would ask you, the reader of this web site, to help us -
particularly if you are from the West. Click here
for details.
The
Siege at the Mosque
Seven years have passed since the signing of a five year plan to
accomplish peace between the Palestinian
people and Israel enemy .
So how did the current trouble start?
- The Palestinian people do not have basic human
rights in their homeland.
- There are five million Palestinian
refugees currently living outside Palestine; these people would like
to return home, but are barred from
doing so by Israel.
- At the same time, the re-settlement of Jews from around the world
remains unhindered.
- In order to resettle the Jews, Palestinians are being
moved
out of their land, both by force and by economic means .
The Palestinian people feel that Israel has failed
to live up to her promises as made in the peace accord.Clearly there is much
injustice. On 28th September 2000, an event occurred which sparked the current
Intifada. On this day, the streets of Jerusalem were flooded
with thousands of Israeli soldiers. A siege
took place around the Muslim Aqsa mosque (the third
holiest mosque in Islam). The Israeli soldiers prohibited
the entry
of any Muslim to the mosque. The Jerusalemites wondered what was happening
in their town and to their mosque.
The siege at the Mosque was led by the Israeli general criminer , Ariel
Sharoon.
This was an act of extreme provocation to
the Palestinians....Sharoon previously led the massacres
at the village of Qibya, in which thousands of unarmed
Egyptian POWs were killed. In 1982, he surrounded two refugee camps, at
Sabra and Shatiela, and led the killing of the people there. This resulted
in thousands of deaths - women and children were not spared.
Indeed, Sharoon has even been reprimanded by an Israeli
court for this.Quite simply, this was to much for the Palestinian people - indeed, it is
fair to say that this would be to much for any human - and rioting ensued.
When a riot occurs in the West, police use water cannon, tear gas
and in more volatile situations, they may use plastic bullets. The aim is
to stop the riot with no
loss of life.In Palestine, the demonstrators, who had been provoked in the first place,
were faced with real bullets and real
missiles, from the fourth largest army in
the world. The demonstrators had stones, rocks and sticks; many were teenagers and
some were even children.
We pray to God that our difficult days will pass.

Raise your flags!
Oh, beloved land Palestine you are our home, Allah is the Greatest
and victory is for the believers. My Heart As an Iron
Weapon, Take It ! And Strike The Zionists.
We will win, Allah Akbar
God is great
